We offer two types of light therapy in the form of a light therapy mask, or a light phototherapy facial.

LED Light Mask

How the LED Light Mask works

The LED Face Mask has three different settings each with specific healing capabilities. We adjust the settings used in your treatment to account for your needs and the condition of your skin.

Red LED (650 – 730nm) This setting reduces fine lines and wrinkles, age spots and sun damage. It increases collagen and reduces the overall appearance of redness, flushing and dilated capillaries. Results are often immediate.

Blue LED (430 – 450nm) At this setting, the light attacks PP-9, producing “singlet oxygen”. This form of oxygen is extremely toxic to the bacteria that cause acne. As a result it decreases the superficial appearance of acne and the root cause.

Mixed LED The mixed setting combines and alternates between the Red and Blue. It’s the setting that ensures you get the most out of the treatment.

Length of Treatment

A treatment usually lasts 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the treatment area and skin condition being treated. An LED mask is placed over the face, delivering targeted light waves to activate skin cells; this corrects the effects of ageing, acne and pigmentation. The treatment is finished off with active serum applied to the face.

Treatments Required

If you have a condition such as acne or psoriasis, or you want collagen stimulation, then typically 4-8 treatments are required. Depending on your condition you could require this treatment once a week, or every other week, for the duration of the treatment sessions.

Results

Some people notice an instant freshening of the skin, especially when under the red light. But for most treatments and conditions the results are visible weeks later, as the body takes time to process its response to the light – it can take weeks for new collagen to grow, or for acne to visibly reduce.

Lumi 8 Phototherapy

Lumi8 is a powerful, medical-grade intensive LED Photo Dynamic Therapy system. It uses proprietary photo-energy “cell-codes” to diminish the signs of ageing by varying and controlling the LED intensity, wavelength, time, pulsation and power wave cycle. In short, Lumi8 delivers pure, non-thermal light (photo-energy) to the skin cells and this stimulates a synthesis of healing and cell rejuvenation to produce anti-ageing results.

Skin Rejuvenation-Collagen Stimulation (590 nm- yellow)

The 590 nm intense LEDs of Lumi8 achieve the two most desired objectives of skin rejuvenation:

1. Increase collagen formation and improve the existing collagen. A specific code with pre-programmed parameters is delivered to the skin to promote pro-collagen synthesis. The cells are “charged” by delivering the right code to the cytochrome. The better absorption regulates ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production, which is the critical element in energising all our cells.
2. Delay the breakdown of existing collagen. The light decreases production of interstitial collagenase (MMP1) and this is induced by heat-shock and UV rays.

Tissue Stimulation, Healing, Refreshening & Anti-Ageing – (630 nm-red)

The 630 nm wavelength stimulates new cell growth and accelerates tissue healing through two processes:

1. Progresses the healing process to the growth phase where fibroblasts increase in number.
2. Induce and increase the collagen growth in skin cells by enhancing the action of the fibroblasts.

Lymph System Detoxification – PNIR

Lumi 8’s P-NIR (Proprietary Near Infra Red) effectively increases the lymphatic system activity. Lymph system flow can be doubled with the use of this therapy. Furthermore, venous and arterial diameters increase, allowing a swifter elimination that promotes detoxification and relieves swelling. The combination of both yellow & red LED light produces an orange-coloured LED light, which is the most beneficial for detoxification.

Radio frequency (RF) skin tightening uses radio waves to heat the deeper layers of skin tissue including the dermis and epidermis to a temperature of approximately 42° Celsius. The radio waves gradually modify the existing collagen fibres causing them to contract and condense, and stimulate the growth of new collagen fibres, which tightens the skin, alleviating fine lines and wrinkles, and therefore reduces the signs of ageing.

As we get older, the integrity of our elastin and collagen proteins decrease, causing our skin to wrinkle and loosen, as well as making it more susceptible to cellulite. The heat from the radio frequency procedure stimulates the collagen, and reduces the onset of these skin issues.

Cryolipolysis (fat freezing) is a clinically proven fat reduction technique that is now well known. It is most commonly used to reduce abdominal fat, but it can be effectively applied to double chins, and chins with unwanted fat.

Simply put, this treatment involves freezing fat cells in the chin. Fat cells have a weak structure and can’t survive the temperatures used in the procedure. They die and leave the body through the lymphatic system, which removes toxins. As a result, fat in the target area is reduced, giving you a healthier and more toned appearance. Sessions are painless and last no longer than 15 minutes. Following the treatment, you may experience some minor redness/ discolouration, which will return to normal within a few days.
